Our Mission
“To provide a support system specific to each individual. Our belief is that people with developmental disabilities have a right to live in a home of their own. Rather than prescribed and controlled choices made by others, the focus will center on the consumer, family members, community resources and a support team picked by the consumer. This circle of support will encourage, support, and help achieve consumer success. New Start staff will be sensitive to the ethnic, lifestyle, and cultural diversity of our consumers and their circle of support. We will use Person Centered Planning which always encourages individuals to maximize their choices so as to enjoy a greater quality of life.
New Start’s belief is that by taking control of the choices that control their lives, people with developmental disabilities can better direct their future. This includes where and with whom they live, where they work, and how they spend their time and resources.”
